Nourish yourself with this peppermint white chocolate matcha! Full of vitamins and minerals, and so creamy and delicious, you’re gonna love it!

Matcha is one of my favorite drinks, and even though I’m a die-hard, dark-as-can-be, chocolate fan, I’m not opposed to partaking in real white chocolate every now and again. Not the stuff made out of palm oil, but the stuff made out of nourishing cocoa butter! This delicious peppermint white chocolate matcha is my latest favorite way to enjoy it! Over ice or hot in a mug, it’s delicious either way.

Peppermint White Chocolate Matcha

Matcha. Though it’s technically a green tea, matcha doesn’t really taste like tea. It has a lovely earthy flavor and is a wonderful metabolism booster. One of the best sources of antioxidants in the world, matcha is full of chlorophyll and vitamins A and C.

If you’re watching your caffeine intake, bear in mind that matcha does have about as much caffeine as coffee. However, unlike coffee, a cup of matcha will be a controlled caffeine release instead of a quick spike and drop. Because of the amino acid L-Theanine matcha contains, it leaves a calming, relaxing effect.

Cocoa butter. If you’ve never tried cocoa butter something, you should. It’s a healthy, saturated fat that is full of antioxidants. Cocoa butter is great for boosting your immune system, lowering inflammation, and helping to keep your heart healthy. It also increases your brain’s production of serotonin, helping to control mood swings.

Milk. I like to use either my homemade coconut milk or fresh goats milk from the girls in my backyard for this drink. And by girls I mean goats. If you don’t have access to fresh milk, you can make your own coconut milk easily (here’s how). Of course, you can just use whatever you want really. Store-bought, raw, organic, almond milk, whatever you want! You could technically even use water. But I really prefer the creamy texture that milk gives this peppermint white chocolate matcha.

Peppermint. For this peppermint white chocolate matcha, I usually use Flavorganics pure peppermint extract. I like to buy it from Azure Standard, but you can get it on Amazon. Really, though, you can just use whatever peppermint extract you like. I would not advise using peppermint essential oils, though. No matter what the major distributors say, I’m not really convinced they’re safe to ingest! Like always, use your own discretion.

Honey. Even though I might sound like broken record, my favorite sweeter for pretty much anything is honey. It’s just the best. If there’s some reason you can’t have honey, I would suggest using a couple tablespoons coconut sugar instead. You can heat it up with the cocoa butter to make sure it fully dissolves and doesn’t leave a grainy texture in your drink.

Optionals. To add even more nutrition to this drink, I like to add in a fresh egg yolk. Raw yolks are packed with calcium and iron, and they’re one of the best ways to get vitamins B6, folate, B12, A, D, E, and K! If you can’t have eggs or don’t have access to fresh, organic ones, I would suggest using a good quality grass-fed beef collagen instead. It also provides a little protein boost and is helpful in supporting your joints, gut function, and digestion. I like to use Perfect Supplement’s collagen. It’s 100% kosher, pesticide, and hormone-free.
