With an amazing soft and moist texture, these perfect dark chocolate almond flour brownies are just what you need to fix that dessert craving. And with no dairy, eggs, or refined sugar, theyβre a perfectly healthy treat, too!
Sweet and simple.
You might say that dessert is my middle name. Raia Dessert⦠yeah⦠maybe not. But I do love it, and since I do I try and make it as healthy as possible so that I can enjoy it as much as possible.
I also try and make it as simple as possible. βCause when you like to enjoy dessert as much as possible, itβs a good idea to have your dessert be as simple as possible, too.
A new finding.
In my search for the perfect, simple, and healthy dessert, I came across a handy little revelation. Now, keep in mind, Iβve been baking for a while. Gluten-free, sugar-free baking for at least 8 years. And in my years baking Iβve loved using applesauce and pumpkin and bananas in place of butters and oils in my desserts. They give a wonderful texture and add subtle flavor.
This time, though, I was out of apples (I make my own applesauce), bananas, and pumpkin. I know, what kind of person runs out of all those at the same time? A mom. Thatβs who. And maybe a college studentβ¦ but thatβs beside the point.
I was out of stuff that I normally use. But one thing I did have was homemade strawberry jam. And so of course I stuck that in my brownies in place of applesauce.
And it was delicious.
My husband, who is not really a brownie person, raved about these new brownies. And so I had to make them again. And again. And again. Needless to say, theyβre a favorite now.
Dark Chocolate Almond Flour Brownies.
These easy almond flour brownies are not only healthy and delicious, theyβre super duper easy, too. All you need is one bowl and a spoon.
Well, and some ingredients and measuring utensils if you arenβt in to eyeballing stuff.
Just throw the wet ingredients in the bowl, mix βem together, then dump the dry stuff on top and mix it in. Nothing fancy, but still something deliciously special.
If you donβt happen to have any homemade strawberry jam on hand (I just use my chia seed berry jam recipe), you can use any kind of jam you have on hand. Just be careful of the sugar content. Iβve tried them with different jams and preserves and theyβre pretty delicious no matter what.
If you donβt want to use olive oil, you can use coconut oil, avocado oil, melted butterβ¦ whatever.
More easily delicious desserts.
