Every day smoothies.
Well, itβs summer now, and that pretty much means I donβt want to turn on the oven for anything. (Except maybe brownies or cakeβ¦) So breakfast becomes smoothies, lunch becomes fresh veggies and salads, and dinner becomesβ¦ more smoothies.
It doesnβt have to be summer for me to enjoy smoothies, though. Regardless of the time of year, my family is full of smoothie fiends. We can regularly be found in the middle of winter sipping on a smoothie for a snack. Wrapped in a blanket. With fuzzy slippers on our feet.
Kidding. We live in the south and itβs always hot down here, so the fuzzy slippers are non-existent. My silly kids to wrap themselves in blankets while enjoying smoothies in temps below 80, though, βcause southern kids are weak when it comes to perfect temps outside. π
If you or your family enjoys smoothies too, here are a few of my familyβs favorite smoothies to enjoyβ¦ Youβll probably love them, too.

- Mineral-Rich Electrolyte Smoothie

Anti-Inflammatory Banana Peach Smoothie
This tasty anti-inflammatory banana peach smoothie is one of our favorite summer options. Even though weβre in America where you can pretty much get any type of food whenever you want it, I prefer to eat my fruit in season, so this is a summer smoothie for us! Plus, peaches are soooo much cheaper when theyβre in season. And blended up with turmeric and gingerβ¦ yum. Such a delicious combo!
I like to use my homemade coconut milk for pretty much all my smoothies, cause I canβt do dairy. But you can also use milk kefir if youβre not dairy-free. Itβs a great, nourishing option and gives the smoothie a nice yogurty tang. If youβre not into tang and you can do dairy, plain raw milk is always a good option, too.
Ginger, turmeric, and peach combo.
Not only is the favor combo of turmeric, ginger, banana, and peach super yum, itβs a powerhouse of nutrition! Turmeric is known to be one of the most amazing herbs, nutritionally speaking. Its full of protein,Β vitamin C, calcium, and iron, and it also provides a rich supply of vitamin B6, potassium, magnesium, and manganese. Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory herb, but it also is antiseptic, and is rich in antioxidants. It has a strong flavor, so you donβt need a lot, and a smoothie is a wonderful way to sneak it in to your familyβs diet.
Turmeric also lends itself to that vibrant yellow-orange color that my kids love in a smoothie. π I love to hide it in things like jello and hot cocoa, too.
Ginger is also well known for its anti-inflammatory benefits and vitamin and mineral content. Its full of potassium, magnesium, vitamin C and B6, and phosphorus. Like turmeric, itβs kinda strong, so itβs good to hide it in things like this anti-inflammatory banana peach smoothie (unless youβre like me and actually enjoy the taste). Plus this smoothie has the vitamin content of the peaches and bananas, so all-in-all itβs a winner!
