These Peanut Butter Vanilla Protein Truffles with Chocolate Ganache are the perfect treat. They’re easy, decadent, and healthy and completely free from gluten, dairy, and refined sugar!
A second chance.
Truth be told, I am not a fan of protein powders. We’ve just never really “mixed well” together. I’d try different blends in smoothies and they always left a grainy feel in my mouth. Not really what you’re going for when you’re downing your morning smoothie.
But I believe that sometimes it’s a good idea to try again. Your taste buds change, what your body needs changes, and plus, trying again helps keep you from being too picky.
So when Sunwarrior sent me a sampling of their raw vegan protein blends, I was determined to find a satisfactory way to include them in my diet. And this simple dessert goes beyond satisfactory. It’s pretty dang good.
Protein-full treats.
Most people add their protein powders into smoothies, and as much as I love smoothies, I have plenty of those on my site, so I decided to go for something a little less traditional.
Dessert.
Thankfully, it’s that wonderful time of year when it’s acceptable to be thinking about everything dessert, so I decided it must be a sign that I was supposed to make something sweet out of the protein powders.
As soon as these little beauties came out of the freezer I began drooling over them. Adding the ganache drizzle made them almost irresistible during our little photo shoot.
Passing the test.
When I handed a finished product to my husband (my ultimate taste tester) he announced: “I love protein powder!” And as I was editing the photos, my 8-year old peeked over my shoulder and reminisced, “Ohhh, those were soooo good! I wish you’d made more of them.”
I guess that means my protein powder comeback dessert was a success. 😉
If your relationship with protein powder has been on the down and out (like mine), I’d encourage you to give Sunwarrior’s blends a try. All their blends are made from rich, raw, plant-based protein sources and boast a complete amino acid profile.
And, of course, give these Peanut Butter Vanilla Protein Truffles with Chocolate Ganache a try. I can guarantee you won’t regret it! 😉

Yum!! Perfect bite!
I do love my protein powder! Every night I mix some into a glass of nut milk 🙂
Thanks, Rebecca! I’ve not tried it in just milk before…
I have to say, I put protein powder in a medley of things. Chia pudding and smoothies are top–but brownies, gluten-free, are ace with the protein!
Great giveaway, and recipe, Raisa!

These are so pretty! I’m not really a protein powder user, but these look amazing!
Thanks so much, Jessica! I’m not really into protein powder either, but this is a tasty way to use it. 😉
These look so good. I haven’t stocked protein powder in the pantry for a few years, but maybe I’ll add almond meal to these instead. Yum!
Thanks, Jelli! Almond meal might work, or even cocoa powder, since it has more of the same consistency as protein powder. I hope you like them either way! 🙂
Yes, total protein powder lover. My fave way to use it is in “ice cream” for instance I will combine frozen cherries, protein powder, stevia, a little ice cold water and some stevia sweetened vegan chocolate chips in my Ninja and pulse it until the cherries are broken down and it has an ice cream consistency.
Oh, yum! That sounds delicious, Becca! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Those look too perfect Raia! And that is exactly the formula we’ve been using for years to make protein balls – it works out and thickens so perfectly with the honey. Crazy good.
Thanks, Alisa! It is a wonderful formula – so easy and delicious! 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by. 🙂

These remind me of one of my favorite childhood snacks. Very similar, but we used non-fat dry milk instead of protein powder. I love the idea of using protein powder, more protein and dairy free! Plus that ganache drizzled on top…yum!
Yeah, chocolate ganache makes everything more delicious. 😉
