Since realizing two weeks ago that I am indeed intolerant to bananas, my relationship with smoothies has been on rocky ground. I put bananas in all my smoothies, not to mention cookies, pancakes, brownies, and cakes. Yes, life has been hard.

When I saw Betty Rawker’s Sesame Mylk Shake recipe, I was pretty apprehensive. I mean, sesame seeds have a pretty strong flavor. Is drinking them really a good idea? Granted, they aren’t as strong when they’re raw, but still…

As hard as I tried, I couldn’t get away from the intrigue. I had to experience sesame seeds in a drink for myself.

Sesame Chocolate Chip Smoothie by Raia's Recipes

Sesame Chocolate Chip Smoothie
Free of gluten, eggs, dairy & refined sugar.

  1. 1 1/2 c. coconut milk (I like to make my own)
  2. 2 T. chia seeds
  3. 2 T. sesame seeds
  4. 2 T. peanut or almond butter
  5. 2 T. honey
  6. 2 T. dairy-free chocolate chips
  7. 1 T. coconut oil
  8. 1/2 t. vanilla (I like to make my own)
  9. 1 1/2 c. ice
  1. Place coconut milk and chia seeds in a blender. Let the seeds soak for a few minutes, then add remaining ingredients and blend on high until smooth. Enjoy. 🙂
